Specialist Physician in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Do you want to work with children and adolescents with complex psychiatric issues in an engaged and experienced team? Then BUP Mellanvård might be the right workplace for you.
BUP Mellanvård is a unit within BUP's section for Intensive Outpatient Care that works with children and adolescents and their families who need more intensive help within specialized child psychiatry. The reception is located at Arenavägen 33 in the Globen area.
We work according to the FACT model (Flexible Assertive Community Treatment), a model for treatment and support for complex and severe conditions and life circumstances where collaboration is crucial. The target group is children and adolescents with severe child psychiatric issues, often with comorbidity and low functional levels. Our interventions are tailored to the needs of the patient and their family, and we meet patients both at home, in their local environment, and at the reception.
Our unit employs over twenty qualified staff members – doctors, psychologists, social workers, nurses, therapists, and administrators. We offer a wide range of assessment and treatment options based on various theoretical perspectives. The group is characterized by commitment, collaboration, and high competence. We value a good working environment and an open climate.
We are now looking for a new specialist physician as one of our colleagues is retiring.
Job Description
The main tasks of the specialist physician are assessment, diagnostics, and treatment, as well as supervision of resident physicians. The team has overall responsibility for the patient's care, including both planned and emergency interventions.
A large part of the work also involves developing our interventions at the unit and collaboration between units within the section of Intensive Outpatient Care regarding difficult-to-treat patients. This includes providing consultative support to physicians at other receptions.
As a specialist physician within BUP Stockholm, you will also, after the usual introduction, participate in the on-call duty as needed.
Qualifications
- Specialist physician in child and adolescent psychiatry (or related specialty) and approved for practice in Sweden
- Strong interest in complex psychiatric issues and working with patients and families in crisis
- Enjoys collaboration and teamwork
- Is flexible and appreciates work outside the reception
- Experience with neuropsychiatric issues
Personal Characteristics
We place great importance on having a structured approach while also being flexible when circumstances change. You have good collaboration skills, are unpretentious, and can work independently with professional integrity in a team.
You are curious and have a desire to both learn and teach.
We Offer
BUP Stockholm works systematically with management and leadership development to create a good and sustainable working environment where everyone can be heard and feel seen. Interviews may take place continuously during the application period. A probationary employment may be applied.
We look forward to your application!
